In July of 2017 we unveiled the Catoctin High School Vinny DIRT Award & Memorial. This award and memorial was established to help teach our youth the importance of character on and off the field!
There is a statue of Vinny at the Catoctin baseball field, as players, coaches and fans enter the field they give Vinny a first bump to remind them of the importance of good character.
What does DIRT mean?
* D is for dynamic. A dynamic person is someone that really makes a difference in the world, who does something that changes people or things!
* I is for integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking!
* R is for respect. Respect your opponent, respect your teammates, respect yourself and respect the game!
* T is for true. A true person can be counted on to be there for their friends and teammates in the good times and the difficult times!
Each year the player that exemplifies the DIRT character will be recognized with the CGS Baseball Vinny DIRT Award. All winners have their names placed on a brick that is placed at the memorial statue.

I can't explain to you how amazing it is to see our kids fist bump to statue to create Positive Energy for each practice. Thank you to all for bring a part of this organization. We make a Great Team
